Welcome Cameron Bradley!

Cameron was born October 13, 2014 at 12:41PM.  His birth was actually quite similar to Chloe's, except that (because Chloe was born so quickly), we opted for an elective induction and therefore his birth was much more controlled.  They broke my water around 10:30AM, and I had an hour of comfort before the strong contractions started.  He arrived two hours after my water broke, just like Chloe.  Thankfully, that hour was spent at the hospital (with a few minutes of comfort even - I did have a brief epidural!) instead of racing to the hospital, as with Chloe. :-)

Cameron weighed 6lbs, 10oz (2 more ounces than Chloe); length 19.5 inches.

Chloe meeting Cameron

After spending about 24 hours on the Mother/Baby unit, Cameron had his routine testing (hearing, etc) before discharge.  He spit up and became a bit dusky while in the nursery, and he failed his congenital heart disease screening by having a low oxygen saturation.  He had labs drawn and had a high CRP (marker of inflammation) and he had changes on a chest xray - all possibly consistent with congenital pneumonia.

He was admitted to the NICU for IV antibiotics.  The first 24 hours were tough - once he had his echo and we knew that his heart was not the cause, and once we came to terms with the fact that we wouldn't be going home together - things were easier.  Still tough with a two-year-old at home who missed mommy (I stayed at the NICU almost 24/7 to keep up with nursing)....but we were lucky.  We stayed for one week of IV antibiotics, and he's been doing great since coming home.

Grandparents could visit the NICU - yay!
