Mommy is so slow! Joint 6/7 month blog post :-)
Weight: 14 lbs, 1 oz at 6 month appointment
Length: 27 inches
Moods: Happy, happy girl! We went on our first family vacation last weekend, to the mountains in Boone, NC last. She was so flexible - in the car, walking around the state park, hanging out in the hotel room. We thank God daily for our happy, healthy, easy-going baby girl!
Favorite foods: She's tried a little of everything now! We've had nearly all the fruits and vegetables - favorites include bananas and carrots. She tried her first pureed meat last night - chicken. :-) Miss Independent - she will now quit eating the purees early so she can have the 'true solids' (puffs, mum-mums, bits of graham cracker) - she likes to feed herself but is so slow that she gets very little nutrition this way. :-)
Teeth: She got her first tooth yesterday! Bottom right central incisor; she likes to stick her tongue out and rub it over the tooth.
Favorite toy: Violet the Leapfrog puppy - it calls her by name and she smiles whenever she sees it! All stuffed animals are a big hit right now, though.
Favorite hobby: Master of destruction! Up until a week ago, she was pretty happy to sit in your lap. Now, she has to be lunging for anything within reach, sweeping things off the table, etc. :-)
Playtime: She has a new play yard/enclosed area in the living room - we play with balls in here, and practice crawling/sitting. She's getting the hang of her Leapfrog table with buttons, etc. She likes reading but will close the book 10+ times while you try to read it. :-) She loves when daddy gives her a nightly bath - lots of splashing now!
Sleep: Usually 7:30 pm - 7 or 8 am. Up once around 4 am to eat.
Milestones:
-Social: She is so quick to smile at people when we are out and about - such a friendly baby! Her squeal/smile when we walk in the door is priceless. :-)
-Language: She has truly found her lungs - lots of happy screams. She's working on ma-ma-ma-ma.
-Gross motor: Still loves to stand/bounce - in the jumperoo or in your lap. She can roll both ways easily. She is often found up on all fours, and can even scoot backward - so close to crawling! She can transition from crawling position to sitting up - big girl! She is much more stable when sitting, though still falls over every few minutes (see above pic). :-)
-Fine motor: She is feeding herself the larger mum-mum crackers. She can pick up tiny bits of graham cracker but can't transfer them to her mouth yet.
She turns 7 months on Friday - will try to post pics in a timely manner!
What a sweetheart! She is growing up so quickly! Give her big hugs from this G-Auntie M. Sure do wish I could hold her to give her a hug!!
ReplyDeletethanks for posting! Such a cutie; we really miss being nearby to love on her.
ReplyDeleteLoving the hair - won't be long before she's looking like a member of One Direction :)
