Last weekend, I attended June Jam, a conference for NC emergency medicine physicians. It takes place in Myrtle Beach, SC. Mark was able to come along, for a long weekend and some much needed R&R.

The pool........

The resort was situated on the marina and a waterway that runs parallel to the beachfront. The view from our balcony - the courtyard, the waterway, and the bridge that connects the hotel portion of the resort to the residential portion.

View of the resort

After arriving Friday afternoon, we went to dinner at a place called Snooky's. We enjoyed calamari, crab cakes, and buffalo shrimp while enjoying the view.

Saturday, after I attended some lectures, Mark and I went to the beach. Though our hotel wasn't right on the beach, they offered transportation to their own private section of the beach. We were loving the complimentary chairs and umbrellas - how relaxing!

Disrupting some sea gulls on our walk.........

That night, we went to an area called Broadway on the Beach. Much of the restaurants were large chains, such as Hard Rock and Planet Hollywood.... (love the upside down building)

But we went to the highly recommended Sea Captain's House - looks just as the name describes, doesn't it?

There was a 'backyard' facing the beach where you could enjoy a drink and wait for your table. Locke (a fellow resident) and his wife Anne joined us for dinner.

Sunday morning, we enjoyed brunch at the resort and then headed home. :-( Such a short but wonderful time away from the hospital!
