Vacation!!

During our first break from residency, we went home to see family and friends. My first stop was Iowa for Anna's bridal shower. Texas theme!

That night, we also had a bachelorette party!

Before flying to California, I had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with good friends in Omaha. I met Chris and Maia's new baby, Easton...

And my great friend Tiffany was able to join us for lunch!


And, of course, I enjoyed time with my godson, Cole.....he was very excited for the first snowfall of the year!

Meanwhile, Mark had been in sunny California all weekend; I arrived on Monday. We enjoyed lots of great family meals and we had plenty of time to relax. While visiting Mark's siblings and their families, we played some Rock Band with Jayden. :-)

On Thursday, we went bowling....it was Jayden's first time!

On Friday of vacation week, we went to the Long Beach Aquarium.

A shark egg casing (looks much like a bean pod) with one of the walls chemically eroded so that you can see the growing shark inside. Nearby, one that has already hatched.
